ACAM Welcome Back and Tributaries Launch Event 2022

The Asian Canadian Asian Migration Studies program invites you to join us for our 2022 Welcome Back and Tributaries Launch Event on Thursday September 22! Come to (re)connect with current students, faculty, staff members, and community partners, learn about new programming and initiatives for Fall 2022, and celebrate the much anticipated launch of the latest volume of the ACAM student journal, Tributaries. You will also have the chance to hear readings from the contributors, and limited print copies of the journal will be available for purchase (make sure to bring some cash!).

This event will be hosted in person and is free and open to all. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!

When: Thursday September 22, 2022, 4:30pm-6:00pm PDT
Where: UBC Life Building Room 1501 (6138 Student Union Blvd)

For event planning purposes, please RSVP at the form below.

We acknowledge and are thankful that this event will take place on the traditional, unceded, ancestral homelands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nation. We would also like to thank the Chan Family Foundation for their generous support.

If you require dietary or accessibility-related accommodations (e.g. vegetarian food options, sign language interpretation, captioning, accessible parking, specific dietary requirements, or any other accessibility-related measure) please contact the ACAM team (acam.events@ubc.ca). If you previously registered and are no longer able to attend, please email us at acam.events@ubc.ca to cancel your registration.

As announced in June 2022, UBC no longer requires students, faculty and staff to wear non-medical masks, but UBC continues to recommend that masks be worn in indoor public spaces. For this in person event, ACAM also recommends the wearing of masks for the safety of vulnerable members of the community, as well as all welcomed guests.
