Kuwentong Pamamahay: Stories and Storytelling of Home and Identity from Filipino Canadian Perspectives

This project is a collaboration between Sliced Mango Collective, Museum of Vancouver, Heritage Vancouver Society, and the UBC Asian Canadian and Asian Migration Studies program.

— ACCESSIBILITY — 

  • Masks: Wearing masks is highly encouraged to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses to vulnerable members of our community. Extra surgical (non-N95) masks will be available at the event. 
  • Entrances: Doorways for venue and washrooms are wheelchair-accessible. Doorway width is about 34.5 inches (87.6 cm). 
  • Elevators: Available from underground parkade to street level (including Plaza and Classroom areas) 
  • Washrooms: Non-gendered washrooms adjacent to Room C100 (just off the Theatre Foyer). Gendered washrooms throughout the venue. Washroom lights are dimmable for sensory needs. 
  • Scent and Wi-Fi: The venue is technically scent- and fragrance-free. However, since access will be open to the public, we may not be able to guarantee this. Please be mindful of fellow attendees and avoid artificial scents and fragrances. The venue and event will use Wi-Fi and may not be suitable for those with electro-magnetic sensitivity (EMS). 
  • Please contact us with any additional accessibility requests. We will do our best to meet needs and requests depending on availability and notice. 

— WAYFINDING — 

  • Public Transit: UBC Robson Square is a short walk from the Burrard, Granville, and City Centre SkyTrain stations.  
  • Driving & Parking: To access the parking lot for 800 Robson Street (Lot 189), head south on Howe Street to the corner at Nelson Street. The parking lot entrance will be on your right, just before Nelson. Note that Howe is a one-way street. Once you have entered the parking lot, follow the directional signs to UBC Robson Square. The maximum height for the Robson Square parking garage is 6.5 feet. 
  • Elevator access can be found at the entrance on Hornby Street at Robson Street. 
  • Event space: Room C100 is located on the classroom level (lower level) of Robson Square. Please use the stairs or the elevator to the left of the lobby after you enter the building.  

This event will be taking place on the unceded, ancestral, occupied territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skxwú7mesh (Squamish), and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) nations.
