Leilan Wong is a mixed-race UBC student of Chinese and European descent, living, working and learning on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Peoples. Leilan is currently completing her Masters of English Language and Literatures at the University of British Columbia. Drawing from the field of critical disability studies, her work considers the framework of “disabled assemblage” as a way to examine visualities and material cultures of assistive technology. Through her studies at UBC, Leilan has worked to critique the systems of power and oppression that shape the world we live in.
